Down payment help is here!
The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) have several programs that help first-time and seasoned homebuyers with a down payment and other home buying costs.
For example, in Minnesota, the MHFA provides the Homeownership Assistance Fund (HAF), as well as the HOME Homeowner Entry Loan Program (HOME HELP) for first-time homebuyers. Each program aims to help with down payment and closing costs by offering interest-free deferred loans.
In Wisconsin, homebuyers that qualify for a WHEDA Advantage mortgage may also qualify for the Easy Close Advantage, which is a loan designed to help pay for a down payment, closing costs and homebuyer education expenses.
