What sellers should bring to closing

Congratulations! You've just about completed the process of selling a home. The last steps are attending the closing appointment and signing the paperwork. Your real estate agent, the buyer and their real estate agent and an escrow agent (closer) from the title company will attend the closing appointment with you, and the meeting should last about an hour.

As the seller, the closing appointment is easy. If there is more than one owner, both owners need to attend. Both of you will need to sign documents.

Don't forget to bring the keys to your home, and any other keys, such as a mailbox key. You'll also want to bring your garage door opener(s). If applicable, bring your code compliance.

If you're using Edina Realty Title as your title company, you may be able to use Closing ExpressSM, which is a convenient form of escrow closing designed to save time. It allows you to complete paperwork at your convenience rather than attending a formal closing meeting. Ask your REALTOR® if this is an option available to you.
